Vincent Van Gogh

My Hero is Vincent Van Gogh who is an artist.

He is representative of Post-Impressionism art.
In 1853, on March 30, he was born in Zundert, Southern Netherlands. After four years later, his brother Theodorus was born, and he had the other brother Cor, and three sisters. Van Gogh and Theodorus had a good lifelong friendship; moreover, Theodorus gave financial and emotional supporting to him.His father was a Protestant minister. Actually his name was his brothers’ name and his brother was died shortly after birth. Before he became an artist, he worked a curate, clerk and so on. He decided to paint pictures in 1880. Usually he drew poor and the people of the lower classes. In 1886, he went to Paris, and in 1888, he moved to France, Arles. After he met Paul Gaunguin who is an Impressionism artist, they lived together; however, they always had quarrel. After a big fight, they lived separately and Gogh cut his ear by himself. He got mental disorder, so he went into hospital. But he still drew. His mental problem was getting worse, so he killed himself on July 29, 1890 with gun.
During a period of his last life of ten years, he produced about 900 paintings and 1100 drawings and sketches. He was very poor and he was not success as an artist when he was alive. After his death, he became popular and he was acknowledging as an artist.

I admire him because he is a great artist and had many unbelievable works. Also, he is a creative person. He painted a lot of pictures in a very short period even though he had serious mental problem. For example, when he cut his part of left ear, he drew Self-Portrait with Bandaged Earwhich is very famous.

One of my favorite works of his painting is “Starry Night over the Rhone,” and there are my favorite sayings which are written by him.

The Beach 'Eul Wang Li' in Korea

Korea is a peninsula, which is almost surrounded by ocean but is joined to a larger piece of land; therefore, beaches are famous. All beaches are crowded in every summer. Also I went beaches sometimes, but Eul Wang Li, which is located in Young Jong Do, Incheon, is one of my memorable trips. I went there with my friends, when I was a high school student. It was my first trip without my family. That is why I remain in my mind. When we planed this trip, we decided to depart in the morning and back in the night. My friends and I went there by bus, and it took 3 hours. After we arrived, we were so excited. We jumped in the sea, swam, and splashed water playfully. We did not care about getting wet. It was so fun and few hours later, we felt hungry. So we found a restaurant which cooked selfish and seafood. When we took a walk along the seashore in order to go to the restaurant, one of my friends who likes to do mischief started throwing the sands to us. Then he run away from us, but HaeYen who got hit by sands followed him very fast. At that moment, she fell down the sands because of the stone. The sky getting darker and darker, so she could not see clearly. She was so pain, thus she could not stand up. As soon as she fell down, we run to her quickly and asked she is okay. But we were wary sorry about that; however, it was funny because of her pose. We could not swallow a laugh. Her pose looked like an actor Arnold Schwarzenegger who is acted in the Terminator. When Arnold was born, he sat on the ground. After that happened, we called her Ms.Terminator. Fortunately, she was getting better soon, so we went to the restaurant. We ate seafood and asked to the server when will be the last bus coming. She said the last bus was

9:00, but it was 9:15! We were panic because we missed the last bus. Unavoidably, we slept in

Eul Wang Li. Next day, we came back to home early, but parents were very upset. That was bad; however, we had a great time. It was wonderful trip also I can not forget this ever.

One day, my friend sent to me presents: DVD, book, and earrings. He sent to me these because of Valentines’ Day. I was so happy and appreciate it. I saw DVD that is so good, so I want to introduce it. DVDs’ title is ‘Music and Lyrics’, and it was touched. I will tell this story for you.

One of his friends who was in a band with him is pretty succeed as a composer. Alex feels frustration. Just at that moment, Cora Colman who is very famous singer suggests to him lets sing together in her big concert. But she makes it a proviso that writes a new song for her. He has never written lyrics, so far as, he does not have enough time. It is so good chance to him, so he can not give up. He writes song, but he can not write good lyrics, even though, he works hard day and night. Sophie (Drew Barrymore) who takes care of his plants talks a lot, so that annoyed him. But when he listens carefully what she humming, she is a perfect lyricist. Therefore, he suggests to her writhing lyrics. She consents that suggestion, so they works together. Getting more and more time spend together, they get closer and closer. Finally they fall in love and finish the song. They sing for singer, but she wants to change melody. She wants fast melody, so he changes the melody. Sophie is angry about that, because the melody is not a fitting to lyrics, and he just polishes apples to her. She is disappointed, and they fight. And the concert is coming soon…

Mi Jin and Cco mi

Do you have a best friend that you can believe? Everyone has a good friend and nobody can live alone. I also have a best friend. Let me tell you about my friend “Mi Jin” who is Korean. I met her in high school, and actually I saw her at first time, I did not like her very much. I thought she has cold-heartedness; moreover, she is slim and tall and she has brown eyes. She looked very cold; however, I got closer and closer to her, I realized she is very kind and nice. When I am sad and depressed, she always cheers me up. She is like my sister, and we knew 3 years, but I feel we knew 10 years. Whenever I had problem and I cried, she comes to me. She listens to me and gives may helpful advices. She is one of the most important people in my life. Now, we have so many memorize.

One of the funny memories with her is her dog “Cco Mi.” she and I love animal, especially dog, so sometimes we used to walk with her dog. She is so cute dog, and she likes any people. She gets used to me and she is quite tame with me. I have seen Cco Mi for a long time, because I had an exam. After the exam, I met Mi Jin and Cco Mi. I was so glad to see them and I hugged Mi Jin. At that time, Cco Mi came running to me, and she jumped to my leg. As soon as I touched her, she urinated to me! In a moment Mi Jin and I could mot move. We were freeze. My shoe was wet because of her urine. I already knew if dogs are so happy, then they can pee, but! I was so surprised. Mi Jin laughed and I had to take a shower.

Still Mi Jin talked about this and laughed, but I want to erase this memory. I missed her very much.

Have You Heard about “Tae Mong”?

“Tae Mong” is a Korean word that means a dream of forthcoming conception. “Tae” means becoming pregnant and “Mong” means a dream. Koreans believe this and before they will get a baby, they predict it by dream. It dreams by a pregnant woman herself, or sometimes it dreams husband and close relatives. “Tae Mong” is different from a common dream. If you dream this, you never forget and it is too clear to escape your memory. Also, it is dreamed about special things. Besides we can guess a baby’s sex what does appear in a dream. If the baby is a boy, you will dream tigers, pigs, dragons, bears, bulls, horses, cranes, clams, comb which is made from gold, and so on. On the other hand, if the baby is a girl, you will dream about fish, peaches, deer, lotus flowers, jewelry, carps, turtle, small colorful snakes, moon, some fruits and so on.

My “Tae Mong” is dreamed by my father. This is the story. When my father lost in deep grand mountain, he tried to find a right way. Suddenly he looked red fruits, so he got near to the fruits. He looked those in detail. He was surprised because those are the fruits that a mountain ginseng’s. He dug those up carefully and he felt very happy and excited. As soon as he dug those up, he works up. Few days later, he knew my mother was pregnant.

Actually, I dream “Tae Mong” a one time. When I was 18 years old, one ordinary night, I fell asleep and dream. In my dream, my cousin was walking a forest path. Then, she found a big pig which is very handsome. As soon as she found that, that runs. She tried to catch the pig, but that is so fast. She could not catch it and finally, it disappears from her sight. She was disappointed, but in that time a woman who was coming to her gave seven big red ripen peaches to her. When she got those peaches, I woke up. It was distinct, so I told to my mother. She thought it was “Tae Mong”. Surprisingly, two weeks later, my cousin was pregnant and the baby was a girl.

A Blood Type

Do you know your blood type? Then I can guess you characteristic. In Korea, many people think they can know one’s trait by knowing one’s blood type. It is a very popular gossip. I will tell each blood type’s characteristic.

First, blood type A. this group of people has narrow-mindedness, also they are sensitive. When they solve or discuss something, they decide careful; moreover, they are very good at analysis and making clear organization. They like following rules, and they do not like talking with others. They have a strong sense of responsibility. They are poor at concentration.

Next, people who are blood type B have open mind and in there group people have many optimist. They like adventure. They have strong personality, so they absorb public attention: however, they are lazy, and do not keep promises. Besides they do not like speaking beating around the bush, so they like speaking it directly. They change their mind fast, so this group has many playboys. Even in Korea, there is a movie which is talking about blood type B playboy.

Then, I am going to talk about blood type O. they are lively and activity people and good at sports. They have strong fellow feeling. They are very happy about leading a group, but they have very strong self-assertion; in addition, they are extreme obstinacy. When they see something, they think many thinks and get many questions; in other words, they are curious people. They easy to feel lonely a lots, and they like talking too much.

Last, people who are blood type AB. This group has not many information. Other blood type people said blood type AB is a genius or a stupid; therefore, blood type AB people complain about this supposition. They have many people who are lake of stability, but they are honest. They have lots of secrets, so they are hard to know them, and difficult to close with them.

If you met Korean, many people will ask your blood, or talking about blood type’s trait. In fact, I do not believe this gossip. Do not mad about this. It is just for fun!
